Supporting My Thesis

My thesis is: In the Lord of the Flies, the shifting of power between Jack and Ralph illustrates the difference of views and values one can have on life.

"The rules!" shouted Ralph. "You're breaking the rules!"

"Who cares?"

This quotation is when Jack and Ralph are fighting about the conch and the rules in Chapter 5 on page 91. The thing that stands out to me in this quote are the difference in point of views. Ralph is reminding Jack that there are rules, but Jack doesn't care about them. He just wants fun, to hunt, and to create chaos. This quotation supports my thesis because it shows different views on how one can take on a challenge. One can either be organized and have rules, or be a savage and forget about them. This can apply to many situations; an example of one can be in leadership.
